Former Chicago Ald. Jesse Evans dies at age 83

Former South Side Ald. Jesse Evans, a one-time postal worker who rose to a seat on the Chicago City Council only to see his success unravel a decade later in the federal Operation Silver Shovel corruption probe, has died. He was 83.
