Illinois employers warn of another round of mass layoffs as some companies make temporary furloughs permanent

An airline catering company and travel plaza operator were among employers announcing layoffs and furloughs in August that will affect 1,980 employees, according to a report by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
