Naperville Animal Control to house Shih Tzu dog beaten with belt; Matteson man charged with cruelty to animals, officials say

A 7-year-old Shih Tzu dog allegedly beaten with a belt over the weekend by its owner's boyfriend is expected to be housed at the Naperville Animal Control office after it’s treated and released from an area animal hospital, a city official said.
